Features

Nissan Altima Exterior

The Nissan Altima continues much of the design of the elements from the 2021 Nissan Altima. However, that doesn’t mean the 2022 Nissan Altima has not undergone a number of refreshes and improvements, making it even better than before.

The exterior of this vehicle looks as though it was shaped by the wind itself. The design is aerodynamic, innovative and beautiful. In both look and craftsmanship, the 2022 Altima is a truly stunning vehicle. In particular, it still keeps the same basic design principles showcased in the 2021 Nissan Altima.

Nissan Altima Interior

One of the most striking aspects of the interior on the 2022 Nissan Altima is the comfort of the front seats. No matter whether you're driving across town or across the country, you'll be very pleased with the overall feel. Nissan describes the seats as being "NASA-inspired," giving an almost zero-gravity feel.

Both standard cloth and the available leather interiors are of good materials and only add to the comfort. The cabin is relatively quiet, adding to the comfort level. An optional Cold Weather package gives you heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and even heated outside mirrors.

You can even add a moonroof to the 2022 Nissan Altima as an option, giving the cabin an airier feel.

Similar to the 2021 Nissan Altima, there is plenty of legroom and headroom in both front and back. The 60/40 split-folding rear seat helps to add storage space when you need to transport larger items.

Nissan Altima Technology

The level of technology in your 2022 Nissan Altima really depends on the trim level you choose. The base model has Bluetooth and push-button start, as well as a four-speaker sound system.

The next level up adds in a rearview camera, 5-inch color monitor, a six-speaker audio system as well as hands-free text messaging. It will also give you Nissan's proximity key system, allowing you to unlock the vehicle simply by pressing a button on the door while your key is still in your pocket.

Higher trim levels add in a 7-inch color monitor, satellite radio and remote start. They also offer a number of additional safety tools and systems. The technology package will give you many of the above features, plus the NissanConnect with navigation system.

Nissan Altima Performance

You'll have two engine options for the 2022 Nissan Altima. There is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, coming in at 188 horsepower. The available 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo Engine, giving you more spirited acceleration and 248 horsepower. Both engines are paired with an automatic continuously variable transmission.

The 2022 Altima handles turns securely, and the steering provides good feedback and a good connection with the road. If you're looking for especially nimble handling on this vehicle, you'll want to go with the SR trim level.

The 2.5-liter engine gets a very respectable 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway. The 2.0-liter Variable Compression Turbo Engine knocks that down a bit to 25 and 34 respectively.

Nissan Altima Safety

There are some interesting safety features and options in the 2022 Nissan Altima. The standard trim level, for example, includes a tire-fill monitor that honks the vehicle's horn when the tires have reached the appropriate inflation level a holdover from the 2021 Nissan Altima.

On upper trims, you'll get a wide variety of optional safety features. Some of these include a rearview camera, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, predictive forward collision warning, parking assist, and forward emergency braking.

The predictive forward collision warning system is intriguing. This technology employs a radar sensor on the front of the Nissan Altima to look ahead and monitor two vehicles in front of you in your lane. If the system detects a sudden deceleration of either of the vehicles in front of you, you’ll get an audible warning as well as a visual signal on your instrument panel.
